As Los Angeles prepares to host the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, LA28 has launched an open call for interested production companies to express their interest in designing and executing the opening and closing ceremonies. This process, announced on February 20, seeks to identify the best creative and technical talent to bring to life four unforgettable events that represent the unique spirit of Los Angeles to billions of viewers around the world.

Casey Wasserman, president of LA28, highlighted the importance of this call for entries: “Los Angeles vibrates with an unparalleled creative energy that I have experienced firsthand growing up in this incredible city. We are looking for the most innovative minds to produce ceremonies that showcase the spirit of LA on the biggest stage in the world.”

OPEN CALL FOR PRODUCTION COMPANIES

The process begins with the submission of an Expression of Interest (EOI) which will be open until March 17, 2025. This first step will allow LA28 to gather key information about the capabilities of interested companies, including their experience in delivering creative strategies, technical and operational production leadership, and track record in large-scale projects.

EOI does not guarantee participation in the next phase, but will be instrumental in informing the selection process for the future Request for Proposal, which will be launched later this year. Interested companies can access more details and the EOI form through the official LA28.org website or on the RAMP portal, intended for members of the Los Angeles regional procurement market.

LA28’s vision is ambitious: to combine the city’s rich history with its creative and technological energy to deliver a unique experience for athletes and spectators alike. The opening and closing ceremonies will be the perfect to showcase to the world the diversity, innovation and spirit of Los Angeles.

OPPORTUNITY FOR TOP CREATIVES

With this call, LA28 seeks to attract the brightest minds in the production industry. The ceremonies will not only be a visual spectacle, but also an opportunity to tell stories that connect with global audiences and celebrate inclusion, diversity and the power of sport.

LA28’s focus on creativity and technical excellence reflects its commitment to deliver an unforgettable Games. The selected companies will be responsible for transforming this vision into reality, ensuring that every detail of the ceremonies resonates with the spirit of Los Angeles and the Olympic and Paralympic values.
