The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has officially announced the appointment of Ross Hutchins as its new Chief Executive, a position he will assume at the end of October 2025. Hutchins joins the ITF after a distinguished career that combines his experience as a former professional tennis player and his extensive background in sports management within the world of tennis. His appointment marks an important step for the organization as it seeks to continue driving the growth and global development of the sport.
With more than two decades involved in tennis, Hutchins has served as an Olympic player, Davis Cup participant, and tournament director, in addition to holding various executive roles at the ATP Tour over the past 11 years, where he currently serves as Sports Director. The ITF believes his leadership and strategic vision will be key in guiding world tennis toward a promising future.
Experienced leadership to strengthen global tennis
Ross Hutchins will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and operations of the ITF, covering everything from the management of top-tier tournaments to the promotion and development of tennis in all its formats. Among his main tasks will be expanding and strengthening iconic competitions such as the Tennis World Cup, the Davis Cup, and the Billie Jean King Cup, as well as coordinating wheelchair tennis at the Olympic Games and Paralympics. He will also manage the various ITF Tours, which include Juniors, the World Tennis Tour, Masters, Beach, and Wheelchair categories — all essential in player development and community engagement.
The president of the ITF, David Haggerty, highlighted Hutchins’ experience and his ability to build on the organization’s recent progress, particularly in key areas such as digital innovation and circuit restructuring. For his part, Hutchins expressed his enthusiasm about taking on this new challenge, committed to working with the 213 member nations and all stakeholders to ensure tennis remains an accessible, competitive, and attractive sport for future generations.
