Sport and technology have become two forces capable of transforming lives when working hand in hand. At this crossroads, six innovators have been recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) through Tech365 Incubate, receiving grants of up to USD 40,000 to boost projects that combine creativity, sustainability, and social commitment. The initiative is part of the Olympism365 Innovation Hub, a space that connects global talents with the purpose of advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN.
These initiatives are not only technological ideas but also seeds of social change that aim to expand into new communities and address real challenges: access to energy, inclusion, women’s leadership, transparency, and mental well-being. Each beneficiary represents a story where sport, in dialogue with innovation, becomes a bridge toward equity and human dignity.
Innovation with purpose: projects that transform communities
Among the selected is the All in for Sport Consortium, which is developing a web3 platform that gives marginalized communities greater control over sports funding, promoting equity and transparency. From Africa, Bamako-Technologie is creating an electricity-generating bicycle to meet basic energy needs in Malian households. In Colombia, the Gold Sports Foundation combines basketball with digital tools to promote inclusion and emotional well-being, while Sports’ Intelligence designs data-based training systems that bring high performance closer to broader and more accessible contexts.
At a global level, Positive Impact Events is working on an artificial intelligence technology to help sporting events become more sustainable, while the British organization Women Emerging (WE) connects women through virtual learning journeys, nurturing a digital hub powered by AI that facilitates shared leadership experiences. Each project reflects how the universality of sport can find new ways to respond to today’s challenges and build a more inclusive future.
Voices that inspire: sport as a driver of change
For Diana Teresa Parra-Sánchez, from the Gold Sports Foundation, this support means broadening horizons: “It will allow us to strengthen our program and reach more communities, using basketball and digital tools as drivers of mental well-being, inclusion, and youth empowerment in vulnerable contexts.” Her testimony reflects how access to the Olympism365 Innovation Hub opens doors not only to resources but also to valuable collaboration networks.
A vision shared as well by María Luisa Zambrano Rojas, from Sports’ Intelligence, who highlights the importance of being part of a global ecosystem of innovation: “Sport becomes a universal language for dignity, opportunity, and inclusion.” Thus, the grants from Tech365 Incubate are not only financial support but also a push for creativity, social commitment, and technological innovation to unite under one purpose: to ensure that sport transforms lives and brings the SDGs closer to the communities that need them most.
