With the best players in the world arriving in England in the coming days, World Rugby unveiled the bold new medals for the tenth and largest Women’s Rugby World Cup ever held. This announcement marks a special moment for the 16 participating nations, where each team and player will receive a recognition reflecting their effort and dedication in a historic tournament.

Designed to reflect a championship that breaks boundaries on and off the field, the finalist medals will be awarded to the gold, silver, and bronze-winning teams. Additionally, each of the 512 players and officials will receive a participation medal, commemorating their role in this generational event and their contribution to the growth of women’s rugby worldwide.

A tribute to champions and participants
Crafted from a solid brass ingot for durability, the finalist medals feature an intricate guilloché design created by a master jeweler in England. At the center is the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup logo, laser-engraved on recycled whistles, a nod to the sport’s traditions and its commitment to sustainability. The reverse displays the new tournament trophy, surrounded by the names of the 16 participating teams, symbolizing the global unity of women’s rugby.

Each medal, plated in gold, silver, or bronze, measures 65 mm in diameter, 13 mm thick, and weighs 291 grams. Meanwhile, the participation medals, presented in 3D-printed display cases, honor each player and official with an elegant black anodized finish. From the reigning champion, New Zealand, to the debutant Brazil, each participant will have a tangible keepsake from this record-breaking tournament, which has already sold over 330,000 tickets. Excitement will continue to build ahead of the opening match in Sunderland on August 15, with the final taking place at Allianz Stadium on September 27.
