Manchester City has signed a new contract with Puma worth a minimum of $1.28 billion, marking one of the most significant commercial agreements in the history of English football. The new deal will run through at least 2035, ensuring annual revenue of $128 million—a figure well above the $83 million per year from the previous contract, which was valid until 2029.
This new partnership not only strengthens the relationship between the club and the German brand, but also sets a financial record within the Premier League. For comparison, Manchester United signed a 10-year deal with Adidas in 2023 worth approximately $1.152 billion, while Liverpool recently closed a multi-year agreement valued at around $77 million per season with the same brand.
A sporting success driving business
Since the collaboration between Manchester City and Puma began in 2019, the team led by Pep Guardiola has won four Premier League titles and reached glory by becoming the second English club to achieve the treble. This outstanding performance has boosted the value of the City brand globally, making its alliance with strategic partners even more appealing.
Ferran Soriano, CEO of City Football Group, highlighted the impact of the link with Puma: “We joined forces with Puma with the ambition to exceed ourselves and surpass expectations. We’ve achieved that and much more over the last six seasons. Today’s renewal and extension consolidate our partnership and project it into an even more promising future.” With this deal, Manchester City not only secures its long-term financial stability, but also reaffirms its status as one of the most powerful clubs both on and off the pitch.
