In an interview with Sports IN, the president of the Peruvian Olympic Committee -COP-, Renzo Manyari, spoke about the presentation at the PANAM Sports Assembly of the new logo for the 2027 Pan American Games, which will be held in Lima. The design aims to reflect “the races, colors, mixtures of flavors, and everything that identifies Peruvians as what they are: unity,” explained Manyari. He detailed that the emblem connects with the country’s gastronomy, culture, history, and traditions, while also linking with the entire American continent under the slogan ‘vibrar juntos’ (‘vibrate together’).

Manyari highlighted in the interview that the visual identity is directly connected to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, integrating a dynamic concept adaptable to different Olympic committees and contexts. “It allows us to play with the letters of the word Lima, for example: I’m Lima, I’m athlete, I’m Panamerica, I’m PANAM Sports, I’m games,” added the president.

Artificial intelligence to “relive epic moments”

In addition to the logo, the organization presented a technological innovation based on artificial intelligence for the Lima 2027 Pan American Games. Manyari revealed that an avatar of himself and an AI-generated video were shown, illustrating the application of the brand and the experiences planned for the sporting event. “It will be artificial intelligence applied to fans, to athletes’ families, and to the athletes themselves to relive epic moments that take place during the competition,” he stated.

The COP president emphasized that this tool will offer personalized experiences, aiming to strengthen the connection between the audience, athletes, and the organization. The technology will allow key moments of the competitions to be digitally recreated, as well as generate interactive content for audiences.

“The beginning of a sports program for young people”

When asked about the preparation of the Peruvian delegation for the upcoming 2025 Junior Pan American Games, Manyari stressed the importance of this event. “These PANAM Junior Games are very important for us because they allow us to begin a sports program for young athletes at the continental level,” he said.

The president recalled that Peru has already participated in the Junior Bolivarian Games, which, along with the experience gained in the Junior Pan American Games, forms “a very interesting career path” for talent development. According to Manyari, the goal is to improve upon the results achieved in Cali and strengthen the international projection of Peruvian athletes.

Programs for young athletes in development

The results Peru achieves in this competition will be key to implementing directives and programs that support athletes in their development stage. “It allows us to carry out a real and much more concrete follow-up of what is desired with the national sports reserve,” said Manyari.

Furthermore, the work in this phase seeks to guarantee the rights and resources necessary for athletes to have solid and sustainable programs, thus supporting their projection and performance in future international events.
