For the first time in its history, the European camp of Basketball Without Borders (BWB) will be held in the United Kingdom. From August 12 to 15, Manchester will welcome 60 of the best high school boys and girls from 27 countries across Europe, who will train under the guidance of top NBA, WNBA, and elite-level coaches. The event is part of the global development and community outreach program organized by the NBA and FIBA.

The camp will feature legends like Tyson Chandler, Derek Fisher, and Sylvia Fowles, as well as current NBA players such as Ivica Zubac and Kevin Huerter. The goal is not only to develop athletic skills but also to promote values like leadership, teamwork, and respect. In addition, outstanding participants will be recognized, and a new local coaching program will be launched.

An event that boosts European talent and strengthens community ties

Over the course of four days, the young players will be guided by a top-tier technical team through sessions that include movement efficiency drills, offensive and defensive skill stations, five-on-five games, three-point contests, and personal development workshops. At the end of the camp, awards will be given to players who stand out both on and off the court, creating a well-rounded experience that goes beyond the game.

The event’s impact will also be seen in the local community. Alongside the main activities, the City of Manchester and Basketball England will launch the Manchester Coaching Program, an initiative aimed at training future coaches. Figures such as Neal Meyer (NBA), Kimberley Gaucher (FIBA), and Councillor John Hacking have highlighted the camp’s importance in growing the basketball scene in the UK. With the support of Nike and the participation of former BWB athletes who now shine in the NBA and WNBA, this camp aims to become a key platform for developing European talent.
