AIDA will hold an exclusive pool-based static apnea competition in Kish, Iran, from July 31 to August 7. The event will be organized by Mohammad Khalilnezhad and will feature Fatemeh Saderi as the head judge.
The competition will take place in a 25-meter pool with a maximum depth of 2 meters and a minimum depth of 0.9 meters, fully meeting all safety requirements established by the organization.
Safety measures guaranteed
The safety divers will be apnea instructors with competition experience, and the event plan includes compliance with the venue’s emergency plan, including evacuation procedures. Additionally, a lifeguard will be present at the pool, and the nearest medical center is just 15 minutes away.
In addition to his role as organizer, Mohammad Khalilnezhad will also serve on the judging panel alongside Fatemeh Saderi, ensuring that the competition adheres to AIDA’s official standards.
Main discipline: static apnea
The championship will focus on the static apnea (STA) discipline, which measures athletes’ ability to hold their breath without movement in the water. This discipline is one of the most technical in apnea, requiring both physical preparation and mental control.
