The FIBA Europe Cup already has its participating teams confirmed for the 2025-26 season. On Friday, the organization announced that a total of 29 clubs have confirmed their official participation in this new edition of the continental tournament, while another 19 teams have registered for the Basketball Champions League (BCL) Qualifying Tournaments. If they do not advance in that tournament, these clubs will automatically join the regular phase of the FIBA Europe Cup.

The tournament will maintain its current structure with 40 teams distributed into 10 groups of four, combining directly qualified clubs and others that must go through elimination rounds. The qualification stages, to be played on September 24 and October 1 in home-and-away format, will grant eight additional spots to complete the final grid.

Qualified teams, contenders and key draw in Munich

A total of 13 clubs already have a secured place in the Regular Season, including Surne Bilbao Basket, Casademont Zaragoza, and Dinamo Sassari. The rest must compete for a qualifying spot in the eliminations, where top seeds such as Kangoeroes Basket Mechelen, Peristeri BC, and Anwil Wloclawek appear. Teams like BC Cibona, KK Bosna BH Telecom, and Riga Zelli will also be in the final battle for a spot in the next round.

On the other hand, teams currently playing in the BCL Qualifiers may join the FIBA Europe Cup if they fail to advance to that tournament’s main round. In that case, the remaining spots will be allocated to the highest ranked clubs from the FIBA Europe Cup qualifiers, as stated in the official regulations. On July 23, in Munich, the official draw will determine both the qualifying matchups and the group stage composition.
