The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), its Volleyball Foundation, and the Indian educational institutions KIIT and KISS have taken a new step in their strategic alliance to empower young people around the world through sport and education. In a recent meeting held between their main representatives, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to developing training opportunities, promoting volleyball, and driving social transformation through the game.

The meeting, led by the president of the FIVBFabio Azevedo; the head of the Volleyball Foundation, Ary Graça; and the founder of KIIT and KISS, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, allowed them to review joint initiatives such as scholarships for athletes, coach training, sporting events, and the possible visit to a Center of Excellence in India. This collaboration is based on the memorandum of understanding signed in October 2024 and is projected as a key tool in the shared mission of both entities: to generate a positive social impact through sport.

An alliance with global impact and long-term vision

The alliance between the FIVB, the Volleyball Foundation, and the KIIT-KISS institutions has already produced concrete results. In October 2024, the Volleyball Foundation KISS Festival in Bhubaneswar brought together more than 40,000 children and achieved a Guinness record for the largest number of players in an exhibition match. This type of event reflects the power of volleyball as a vehicle for inclusion, inspiration, and change in vulnerable and rural communities, demonstrating that sport can open doors to a better future.

In line with the FIVB’s Strategic Vision 2032, the strengthening of this partnership aims to multiply opportunities for young athletes around the world. The joint celebration of World Volleyball Day, the promotion of technical training, and support for universities in the development of beach volleyball are just some of the projects underway. This international synergy reaffirms the potential of sport to build bridges between cultures, foster education, and promote lasting change.
